First Year Student Move-in Day! 
Summit Village
Village at Alpine Valley
Join parents, families, friends, and classmates of the Class of 2023 as students, faculty, and staff help residential students move into their new digs for the start of their first year at UCCS! Check your move-in times and locations (sent separately).

Lunch for your students and families will be provided.

Get the Scoop Ice Cream Social

Mix and mingle with current first year students who live in housing, indulge in some ice cream, and learn more about the resources Residence Life and Housing have to offer.

Resident Assistant Floor Meetings – Residence Life and Housing
1-2:15pm; See your RA for locations!
This will be your first opportunity to meet all of the students you will be living with in your residence hall community. Coordinated by your Resident Assistant (RA), you and your community will have a chance to get to know each other and learn what to expect during Clyde’s Kickoff, the academic year, and living on-campus. This is REQUIRED for all-on campus students.

Commuter Social 
12:00pm-2:00pm; Student Life Lounge
Student Life would like to invite you to the 2nd annual Clyde’s Kickoff Commuter Social. All first year commuter students are welcome to attend! Free snacks, resources around parking, transportation, information on Clyde’s Kickoff, and university assistance will be available! Following the social, commuter students will join the annual PlayFair Rally!

PlayFair
2:15pm-3:45pm Gallogly Events Center and Berger Hall
PlayFair is unlike anything you have experienced. It’s entertainment! It’s fun! It’s the perfect way for you to meet the rest of your classmates in the nation’s largest icebreaker. You will then pose with nearly 2,000 of your new friends for the famous “UCCS” class photo.

Class of 2023 Dinner
Dinner Summit Village 4:00pm-6:30pm
After PlayFair, it’s time to gain regain your energy and enjoy a wonderful assortment of food including street tacos and other delicious items with members of your class!

RecFest
6:30pm-9:30pm; Campus Recreation and Wellness Center  
Put on your sneakers and join in on an action-packed night! Climbing, swimming, basketball, dodgeball, Zumba, cycling, music and more… we have it all! Free RecFest T-shirts to the first 200 students

Convocation and Mountain Lion Rally
8:30am-9:15am; Gallogly and Berger
Convocation is your official welcome to UCCS. UCCS Chancellor Venkat Reddy will be welcoming all new students to campus and sharing how UCCS can make your dreams come true! Following convocation, you will march with your GPS class and professor through the spirit tunnel to your GPS classroom.

GPS 1010 Start Up Days 
9:00am-5:00pm.; All Classrooms and University Center Meeting Rooms
GPS 1010 Start-Up Days is the kickoff to your freshmen seminar. Faculty and staff are excited to spend this time with you. All freshmen must participate in their GPS 1010 class during Thursday and Friday of Clyde’s Kickoff. These two days equate to four class periods and a student who fails to attend is at risk for failing the class.
Check your student portal and/or schedule for exact locations.

Mountain Lion Roar Night
7:00pm-9:00pm; Gallogly Events Center
Join our athletics department and our student athletes as they showcase their talents in very competitive and fun-filled games of soccer and volleyball
Load up on UCCS athletics spirit gear, learn the school chants and sports, all while cheering on your classmates in fun competitions with your student athletes. These games, giveaways, t-shirts, face painting, and so much more!

Arts Night at the Ent Center! 
6:30pm-9:00pm; Ent Center for the Arts
The Ent Center presents world-class music, dance, theatre, and visual art right on campus. Join us for a *free* dinner overlooking the mountains and walk through a special preview of the Gallery of Contemporary Art's newest exhibit featuring multi-media sculpture by Nashville-based artist Vadis Turner. From there, choose your own adventure: Grammy-nominated Gaby Moreno, whose style spans soul, funk, and rock, best known from NPR’s Live from Here (with opening act Jarabe Mexicano) is at 7p; or The Mountaintop about the last night of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., starts at 7:30p. The Mountaintop is free for students and the first 25 attending Gaby Moreno are free as well (all others pay just $5 with their student ID). This event is specially planned just for UCCS students!

What better way to start your first weekend at college than an evening of free giveaways, t-shirts, and prizes throughout the UC! Come and learn about the different offices and resources the University Center has to offer, as well as sign the official UCCS Class of 2023 banner!

Crave-Rave Bingo

Do you like bingo, free food, and TONS of prizes? Then head on over to Crave Rave Bingo following Premiere Night for the most intense game of bingo in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC)!

Sit under the stars and enjoy a great new release, Bring your blankets and chairs, while enjoying free popcorn, snacks, and drinks! The featured movie will be Disney’s new “Aladdin”
