Jennifer George

Senior Associate University Counsel


Jennifer George is a member of the CU legal team assigned to UCCS. She has a 25 year career as a lawyer, business owner and consultant. In her role, she is responsible for protecting and defending the university's legal interests in accordance with the laws of the United States and the state of Colorado, and guides the principles of integrity, knowledge and humanity.  She practices higher education law and advises campus constituents on laws that impact the institution, including employment law, contact law, real property law, and Constitutional law. Prior to joining CU, she practiced employment and labor law with the international law firm Littler Mendelson, regional law firm Sherman & Howard, operated a human resources consulting practice, and co-owned a company that investigated workplace misconduct, conducted employment practices training, developed corporate and personnel policies and manuals. In 2012, she was a candidate for the Colorado House of Representatives.

She earned a law degree with honors from the University of Texas, Austin, and a bachelor's degree magna cum laude from Texas A & M University.
