MBA Academics & Curriculum

The UCCS MBA consists of 36-45 credit hours depending on a student's previous academic background.  The curriculum includes a mix of foundation, core, and elective courses . The degree requires 36 credit hours of graduate (6000-level) business coursework (core and electives).  Students may be waived from taking up to 9 credits of the foundation courses based on previous academic background.  Average completion time is 2-1/2 years for a student who is working while attending school. Full course descriptions are available in the academic catalog. Core and foundation courses are offered both online and on campus. Most electives are offered in both delivery modes.

Foundation Courses (up to 9 credits)

Students complete up to 3 foundation courses as part of their MBA degree. Foundation courses may be waived based on prior academic work (subject to certain age and grade requirements). In some cases foundation requirements may be satisfied by passing a waiver exam.
