This seminar track is the first out of four tracks within the Multi-Generational Professional Seminar series, brought to you by the UCCS College of Business, Office of Professional & Executive Development (OPED) and Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado (BBB).

This 4-session track explains the commonalities and differences between our newest, and soon to be biggest, workforce generation and the current workforce generations. Organizations have heavily invested time and money in Millennial employees, only to see them leave soon after.

This track will focus on understanding Millennial loyalty, what really motivates your Millennial workforce, and how to invest in them.  Sessions 1 and 2 will introduce strategies for effective motivation of Millennial employees.  Additionally, understanding how to evaluate and engage your Millennial team members is vital to retention.  Sessions 3 and 4 will focus on effective strategies for motivating the newest workforce generation and retaining them for the long term.

APPLICATION OF LEARNING

This program is an executive education offering, meaning that it will include theory, research and evidence-based practices into the topics of leading a multi-generational workforce.  The program will also cover strategies of how to apply the theory and evidence-based practices into your own organization and specific industry. 


CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION

Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from the UCCS College of Business if all sessions within a track are successfully completed.

Session 1 :: Who are the Millennials?

This session explains the commonalities and differences between our newest, and soon to be biggest, workforce generation and the current workforce generations. The session will introduce strategies for effective motivation of Millennial employees. Participants will learn:

  • Comparison of the four current workforce generations and how each view the workplace.
  • Why Millennials are positive for your teams.
  • Basic motivation concepts and strategies for the Millennial workforce

Session 2: Motivation and Loyalty of the Millennial Workforce

Organizations have heavily invested time and money in Millennial employees, only to see them leave soon after. This session will focus on understanding Millennial loyalty, what really motivates your Millennial workforce, and how to invest in them.  Participants will learn:

  • Understanding workplace motivation for Millennial team members.

Session 3: Building Long Term Strategies to Keep and Motivate your Largest Workforce Generation - Part 1:

  • Developing performance evaluation strategies that will better evaluate and encourage Millennial performance

Session 4: Building Long Term Strategies to Keep and Motivate your Largest Workforce Generation - Part 2:
