Western Athletic Conference
Commissioner Jeff Hurd announced
that Kristin Preble has been named
the Assistant Director of Championships
and Marketing at the WAC.
"Western Athletic Conference Commissioner Jeff Hurd today announced that Kristin Preble has been named the Assistant Director of Championships and Marketing at the WAC. She will assume her duties on Feb. 23.
"We are excited to have Kristin join our staff and look forward to her contributions," Hurd said. "Her knowledge of the WAC, her known organization and work ethic, and her experience gained working in two conference offices made her the right person for this position."
Preble comes to the WAC after spending the last year and a half as the Compliance and Championships Coordinator at The Ivy League, where she planned and executed 11 Ivy League championship events. She also assisted with sport administration, compliance and student-athlete support services.
From August 2012 through June 2013, Preble was a business and compliance intern at the WAC, where she performed a wide range of duties, including creating championship expense reports, updating championship manuals, participating on site at four WAC Championships, leading monthly compliance conference calls and creating an Excel template to assist with monitoring budget projections and future forecasts.
Prior to her time with the WAC, Preble was an intern with the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA), where she served as an on-site director for the 2012 NWBA National Tournament, with direct supervision of all teams, events, registration, officials and volunteers for the 80 teams. She also coordinated travel for 30 NWBA athletes for the 2012 NWBA All-Star Game and recruited 40 junior athletes for the 2012 NWBA All-Star Kids Clinic held in conjunction with the NBA All-Star Game in Orlando, Fla.
A former student-athlete, Preble graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in sport management from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. A four-year member of the soccer team, she was named third team all-conference as a senior and was a three-time first team academic all-conference selection. A SAAC representative, she was also a CoSIDA Academic All-District VII third team honoree in 2009 and served as a team captain as a junior."
