UCCS Sport Management Alumni, Alex Koehler named Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance on May 1st
"University of Colorado Colorado Springs Athletic Director Steve Kirkham is proud to announce the appointment of former Mountain Lion men's basketball student-athlete Alex Koehler as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance. Koehler began his duties on May 1 after he served as a graduate assistance in the office since fall 2014.
"We're excited to have Alex remain at UCCS as our new compliance director," Kirkham said. "Alex has been maintaining day-to-day compliance operations since September, and we expect great things from him as he settles in as a full-time member of our staff."
Koehler was a four-year member of the UCCS men's basketball team and his junior and senior seasons marked the two most successful teams in program history. He started 76 games and scored 517 points with 412 rebounds, 147 assists, 93 steals and 21 blocked shots. He was a two-time member of the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll. Koehler has a bachelor's degree in business and is completing his master's degree in communication. He is a 2010 graduate of Rampart High School in Colorado Springs.
"I am excited to still be a part of the UCCS Athletic Department as the next Compliance Officer," Koehler said. "I have enjoyed being on the athlete side, and am ready for the next chapter of my life on being on the administration side. I have enjoyed working with everyone in the athletic department so far and am looking forward to continue working with them in the future. I am grateful for this opportunity and love being here at UCCS."
