1. Science and Engineering BldgDo outstanding science focused on interdisciplinary research where the physical, mathematical, engineering, and computational sciences collaborate with biological sciences to produce significant new approaches for dealing with fundamental molecular biological questions and related health issues.
  2. Build a campus-wide science research initiative with focused research areas. The initial focus will be on connections between the physical and biological sciences.
  3. Promote interdisciplinary education in focused areas. The initial emphasis will be on biophysics, but this will be extended as the center grows and expands.
  4. Promote interactions between the UCCS research community and the BioFrontiers Institute, other institutions of research and higher education, and the biotechnology community.
