Elissa Unger serves as Associate Director of Development focusing on cultivating relationships and building support for the College of Business and School of Public Affairs. Prior to joining the UCCS Advancement Team, Elissa worked as the Foundation Development Director for the USA Field Hockey Foundation, responsible for the overall strategic planning and implementation of fundraising programs and events. Elissa spent over four years at her alma mater, Michigan State University, working as Assistant Director of Development with focus on major gifts and also stewardship and donor relations.
Elissa received her master’s in Foundations, Leadership and Administration from Kent State University while working in their athletic development office, concentrating on annual giving and premium seating. She graduated from Michigan State where she received her bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Business. She was a four year letter-winner on the Spartan Field Hockey team. A Pennsylvania native, Elissa spends as much time as she can outdoors exploring all Colorado has to offer with her rhodesian ridgeback dog, Zuri.
