Steps and Details for Students Applying to UCCS

 

Undergraduate Applicants
Undergraduate International Application

If you are pursuing an undergraduate degree or plan to take some undergraduate level classes, please fill out the international undergraduate online application here. 

Graduate Applicants
Graduate International Applicant

International graduate applicants are students who have already completed an undergraduate degree and wish to pursue a higher degree at the master or doctoral level. International graduate applicants should fill out the graduate application. Click here for Graduate Admissions.

Conditional Applicants
Undergraduate Conditional Applicant

International undergraduate applicants who do not meet the UCCS English proficiency requirement can still be admitted after they gain proficiency or through an UCCS approved partner language training centers. Undergraduate international students who are seeking conditional admissions should fill out the undergraduate international application.

Non-Degree Applicants
Non-degree Seeking Exchange Applicant

International applicants who are not seeking a degree from the UCCS but are nominated as exchange students by their home institutions. Contact your international office to determine if an exchange partnership exists between your home institution and the UCCS. Nominated exchange applicants, please visit the International Affairs Office page here for admissions details.

 

OUR APPLICATION FEE

Upon submission of the application you will have the option to pay by credit card (USD60). If you did not pay by credit when you submitted the application the application fee is payable by check or money order (made payable to UCCS). Checks or money orders can be mailed to UCCS. Students can also pay the fee online by credit card (If the link doesn't work in Chrome please use it in Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer). If submitting a check or money order, include your full legal name and date of birth. We recognize some students may be faced with financial constraints in paying the application fee so please talk with your Admissions Counselor if you need assistance.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY

You can fulfill the English proficiency requirements by submitting a passing test score or by qualifying for one of our exceptions. You can email these documents (in PDF format) to UCCS at ugapp@uccs.edu.

LANGUAGE SCHOOL, HIGH SCHOOL (FINAL THREE YEARS) AND/OR POST-SECONDARY TRANSCRIPTS

Upload a copy of the secondary school/high school transcripts (final three years), language school transcripts, and post-secondary/college/university transcripts during the application process. We require transcripts from each and every collegiate institution attended during and after graduation from high school. Upon the successful completion of your online application, you will receive a private link to upload your foreign high school transcripts and/or post-secondary transcripts for evaluation. This service is free of charge for UCCS applicants. More details will be communicated to you via emails. Please make sure to check your email for the uploading instructions.

ACT OR SAT SCORES, IF YOU HAVE TAKEN THESE TESTS

Scores will be considered official if submitted electronically by the testing agency or if they are included on the official high school transcript. We receive electronic transmissions of ACT and SAT I score from the testing agencies each week, and we will automatically update your application with any new scores received by our application deadlines.

Your highest scores are used in the admission decision. If you take the same test more than once, we combine your scores on each subsection to give you the highest overall composite score.

UCCS's ACT code is 0535 and the SAT code is 4874.

INFORMATION FOR TRANSFER STUDENTS

A transfer student is a student who has completed 24+ credit hours of transferable college-level coursework. Whether you are transferring from a community college or a four-year institution, we are here to help you transition to UCCS!
