Senga Nengudi Fittz

Senga Nengudi Fittz has been a lecturer at UCCS in the Visual Arts and Performing Arts department as well as the Women’s Studies and Ethnic Studies programs since 1998. She is a sculptor, installation and performance artist, who has exhibited nationally and internationally.  Some of her awards include the 2005 Louis Tiffany Foundation Award and the 2005 Anonymous Was A Woman Award.  Besides solo exhibits, she has been included in major group exhibits, such as the 2007 WACK! Art and the Feminist Revolution and the 2004 59th Carnegie International, Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh, PA. A Colorado Springs community arts activist of long standing, she is also the director/curator of ARTSpace Gallery, an alternative gallery housed in Hillside Community Center.
