Road construction blues have you wondering how to get to campus? While road construction, particularly from the east, is likely to be an issue for UCCS faculty, staff and students for some time, there are alternatives to traditional routes to and from campus.

EASTBOUND AUSTIN BLUFFS FROM GARDEN OF THE GODS

OPTION 1:

1. Straight (east) on Austin Bluffs Pkwy (ABP)
2. Left onto campus at entrances at Mountain Lion Way (Entrance 4), Regents Cir (Entrance 3) or Meadow Ln (Entrance 1).

OPTION 2:

1. Turn right (south) onto North Nevada Ave
2. Turn left (east) onto Mountview Ln
3. Follow Mountview until it runs into Acacia Dr, by the church.
4. Follow Acacia and turn left (north) onto Meadow Ln
5. Meadow Ln leads onto campus at Entrance 1.

WESTBOUND AUSTIN BLUFFS FROM NORTH UNION

OPTION 1:

1. Straight (west) on Austin Bluffs
2. Turn right (north) onto campus at any of the 4 entrances.

OPTION 2:

1. Turn right (north) onto N. Union Blvd.
2. Turn left (west) onto Damon Dr.
3. Turn left (east) onto Palm Dr
4. Turn left (south) onto Cragwood Dr.
5. Turn right (west) onto Austin Bluffs
6. Turn right (north) onto campus at any of the 4 entrances.

OPTION 3:

1. Turn left (south) onto N. Union Blvd.
2. Turn right (west) onto Acacia Dr
3. Turn right (north) onto Meadow Ln.

Meadow Ln leads onto campus at Entrance 1.

FROM NORTH NEVADA

NORTHBOUND:

1. Turn right (east) onto Mountview Ln
2. Refer to ABP Option 2 above, #2-5.

SOUTHBOUND:
Option 1

1. Turn left (east) onto Mountview Ln.
2. Refer to ABP Option 2 above, #2-5.

Option 2 (When Lot & Rec Center Opens)

1. Turn left (east) onto Eagle Rock Rd.
2. Turn right (south) onto Stanton Rd.
3. Turn left (east) onto service road leading into Lot 8/Rec Ctr, just before ABP.

WESTBOUND AUSTIN BLUFFS FROM NORTH UNION

OPTION 1:

1. Straight (west) on Austin Bluffs
2. Turn right (north) onto campus at any of the 4 entrances.

2. Follow Hancock as it bears right onto the bridge.
3. Hancock changes to Manchester St.
4. Turn right (north) onto Cumberland St.
5. Turn left (west) onto Acacia Dr.
6. Turn right (north) onto Meadow Ln.
7. Meadow leads onto campus at Entrance 1.

WESTBOUND:

1. Turn right (north on N. Hancock Ave.
2. Refer to Eastbound Fillmore above, #2-7.

Campus to University Hall

Beginning February 24, 2007, the left turn onto Cragmor Village Road and Cragwood Drive (entrance to University Hall) will become a right-in, right-out only as the City of Colorado Springs’ Austin Bluffs Interchange at Union Boulevard project moves west. Utility work has already started and will be immediately followed by construction of a new campus Frontage Road. With this safety hazard present especially at Cragwood Drive, left-turns in and left-turns out must be prohibited.

In the interim, if you are either working, taking classes, or visiting University Hall you will need to take an alternate route in order to gain access to University Hall (see map below). This alternate route will also affect the schedule of our University Hall shuttle. We are currently running on a 20 minute schedule, but this will change. To help facilitate the schedule issue and with the City’s support, we rented an additional 15-passenger van and driver to help keep the University Hall pick-ups as close to the original schedule as possible. This van will be put into the rotation during the most traffic-congested times on Austin Bluffs Parkway, (between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.). Barring any unusual circumstances, the shuttle bus schedule will now be 25 minute intervals instead 20 minute intervals.
