Doctorate of Nursing Practice approved. The CU Board of Regents approved this week a new Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree for students at UCCS. (MORE)

Search committee selected. Leslie Manning, dean, Kraemer Family Library, and Tom Christensen, dean, Letters, Arts and Sciences will lead a search committee charged with selecting a new vice chancellor for academic affairs. The committee members are Cathy Brittain, accountant, Resource Management, Randall De Pry, associate professor, Education, Gwen Gennaro, director, Sponsored Programs, Kathy LaSala associate dean, Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Ceil Malek, senior instructor, English, Chris Martinez, senior instructor, Kraemer Family Library, Eric Olson, associate dean, College of Business, Gayanne Scott, director, Resource Management, Sudhanshu Semwal, professor, Computer Science, Kay Smith, graduate student and past UCCS alumni president, and Kee Warner, professor, Sociology. A greater Colorado Springs community member will be added at a later date.

First fall forum. Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak’s first fall forum is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sept. 13 in the UC Theater.  Expected topics include the university’s 2007 budget as well as the upcoming accreditation visit. Refreshments will be served.

Vision for the future. A town hall meeting to receive input for updates to the UCCS Facilities Strategic Plan is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sept. 27 in Cragmor 006.

Donations fuel UCCS leadership program. Students in the UCCS Chancellor’s Leadership Class will receive more than $130,000 in scholarships this year generated by private donations. (MORE)

Task force formed. A task force of UCCS faculty, staff and students was formed this week to review policies and procedures regarding treatment of students with military obligations (MORE)

Martin Wood, chief operating officer, Advancement, was recently appointed to the Board of Directors for the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation.

Who’s New
Katie Foltz accepted a reinstatement opportunity as an administrative assistant with the Department of Human Resources effective Sept. 11.

Christopher Lynn begins as director of the Gallery of Contemporary Arts Sept. 11. He comes from De Pauw University where he was assistant director and curator for the visual arts.
