What is the UCCS University Connection Program?
This program is a unique transfer advising and scholarship opportunity for students attending
Colorado community and junior colleges who are planning to transfer to UCCS.
What are the benefits?
The UCCS University Connection Program assists students in taking the appropriate courses to
obtain their Associate's Degree and have all 60 hours of that Associate's Degree count
towards their Bachelor's Degree at UCCS. Also, UCCS University Connection students will
have their application fee waived while receiving up to $1600 in tuition reimbursement.
Who is eligible?
Any student attending a community or junior college in the state of Colorado pursuing an AA or AS
degree (or specific AGS programs from PPCC) can apply to the UCCS University Connection Program.
How does the program work?
There will now be two tiers of students in the UCCS University Connection Program, Tier 1
and Tier 2. All students must be pursuing either an AA or AS degree (or
specific AGS programs from PPCC). (AGS and AAS
students should contact the University Connection Coordinator)
| Tier 1 Students($1600): Students must apply to the program during their first semester toward the AA or AS at the respective Colorado community or junior college to qualify as a Tier 1 student. Students in the Tier 1 program are required to maintain contact with the UCCS University Connection staff every semester via phone, email, or in person to remain eligible for the scholarship. This requirement has been put in place to help ensure that students take the appropriate coursework to complete the Associate’s Degree and still have it count for the Bachelor's Degree at UCCS. All students will be required to maintain a transfer GPA of 3.0*** or higher and complete the Associate’s Degree before transferring to UCCS in order to be eligible for the scholarship. |
Tier 2 Students($800): Students who apply after the first semester at the community/junior college will qualify as a Tier 2 student. Students are still required to apply to UCCS University Connection with at least 2 full semesters (with 6 credit hours applicable to the AA/AS taken in each semester) left toward the completion of the Associate’s Degree to be eligible for the scholarship. The UCCS University Connection Program is designed to assist students in ensuring their courses will transfer and apply to the Bachelor's Degree at UCCS. This purpose is defeated if students are applying for the UCCS University Connection Program with less than a year left until completion of their Associate’s Degree. |
NOTE: All students are required to maintain a transfer GPA of 3.0 or higher and complete the Associate's Degree before transferring to UCCS in order to be eligible for the scholarship. The transfer GPA is determined by the UCCS Office of Admissions and is based on all course work taken regardless of applicability towards the Associate's Degree (this includes courses with a grade replacement). |
