Non-Enrolled Summer Work Study Program

Applications for the Non-Enrolled Summer 2007 Work Study are now available to students of UCCS. This application process is separate from the FAFSA process for those students applying for financial aid. However, recipients must have made priority date in applying for financial aid for the 2007-2008 school year through the filing of their FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

This award is designed for students who will not be taking any credit hours this summer term but will be returning for enrollment in the Fall 2007 term. There will be a limited number of awards for this program.

Requirements

  • Recipients must be making satisfactory progress toward the completion of their degree. (See the UCCS "Policy on Satisfactory Progress" for complete information).
  • Recipients must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents.
  • Recipients must have had a work-study job at UCCS during the previous spring term.

Application Process

  • Each applicant for a Non-enrolled Summer Work Study award must submit a completed UCCS Application for Non-Enrolled Summer Work-Study. (Online version available at www.uccs.edu/~stuemp/word/nonenrollws.doc)
  • These applications are available now (in Financial Aid/Student Employment Office and via the Student Employment web page).
  • The applications need to be turned in to the Office of Financial Aid/Student Employment by Friday, May 11th, 2007, at 5:00p.m. Late applications will not be accepted.

The awards will be made on a computerized random selection process. The maximum award amount will be $3000.00. All applicants will be notified whether or not they receive a Non-Enrolled Summer Work Study award by May 18th, 2007.

What you should do if you receive the award

  • Those students who do receive an award must officially accept the award using the Office of Financial Aid/Student Employment Award Letter.
  • Recipients will use SEAN'S Place (Student Employment Assistance Network) for referrals to on and/or off campus work-study positions.
  • Upon getting hired for a work-study job, students will come into the Office of Financial Aid/Student Employment for employment paperwork.
