What  can be done during "Ask an Advisor" ?  

Every Monday and Tuesday undergraduate students can get immediate help, without an appointment, 
with their quick changes and questions during Ask an Advisor hours. 

Ask an Advisor is for:
  • Once you have registered, to verify your course choices will count
  • Questions about adding or dropping a single course
  • Declaring or changing your major or minor
  • Questions about changing colleges on campus  (Intra-University Transfer)
  • Requesting or inquiring about forms
                (academic petitions, waivers, substitutions, course descriptions, etc.)
  • Dropping off forms
                (academic petitions, waivers, substitutions, course descriptions, etc.)
  • Dropping off requests for official academic letters   
                (NOTE: drop requests off early, as letters may take up to 5 business days)
  • Not sure if I need an appointment

LAS Advising appointments are available Monday through Friday.  We recommend at least one per academic year for the following:
  • Next semester schedule planning / choosing courses
  • Long term/4 year plans
  • Required advising
                   Freshmen, Athletes, Probation contracts, Suspension, etc.
  • Senior Audit/Graduation check out
  • Degree progress review - “Am I on track?"
  • Comparisons of majors and minors 
                  "What if" degree plans
  • Completion of paperwork
                    V.A. , Vocational Rehab, ROTC plans, etc. ( NOTE: we recommend you drop forms off in advance)

    Also available Monday through Friday:

  • Reassurance or instructions for academic "emergencies"
  • Quick Question form
                (write your question down and receive a  call or email)
  • Scheduling an appointment
