Welcome to the SPLAT Club! We are Students Pushing the Limits of Advanced Technologies (SPLAT), a student club located at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. The SPLAT Club was started in 1996 by a handful of students with a passion for cutting edge computing technology and video gaming. Over the years our membership has grown into the hundreds, reaching out to students from all over campus, as well as enthusiasts throughout the state of Colorado. Our mission during this time has remained the same: To explore the cutting-edge in computing hardware and software technology within a fun and interactive environment of a local area network gathering, called a LAN Party. Our events, otherwise known as SPLAT Fests, are Bring Your Own Computer (BYOC) style LAN parties that are held 2-3 times a year and attract nearly a hundred regular participants. A small admission fee is collected from BYOC and tournament participants, but the events are otherwise free and open to everyone, including friends and family of all ages, curious onlookers, and first time attendees wanting to find out more about the club. The LANs are held Saturday through early Sunday, and take place on the UCCS Campus. A typical SPLAT Fest includes lots of PC and console gaming, comfortable seating, a high-speed internet connection, performance gaming servers and networking equipment, competitive tournaments, awesome sponsors, cool prizes, and plenty of food, drinks, and fun! Being a non-profit student-run organization here at UCCS lets us reach out to thousands of local students and residents in promoting our events and bringing exposure to the club, the university, and our sponsors. Previous sponsors include ATI, AMD, nVidia, Alienware, Crucial, Belkin, Corsair, Frito Lay, Eidos, Pepsi and Bawls to name a few. Check out more pictures on our History Page.
