Edwardo Portillos, Ph.D.

AssistantProfessor of Sociology,

one of two new faculty members joining the Sociology Department in the
2004-2005 academic year, Dr. Portillos completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado/Boulder and graduate work at Arizona State University.  Research interests include police-community relations in Latino/a communities and issues of gender, race/ethnicity, and crime.  Publications have focused on gangs, youth and the criminal justice system.
