FREE SPEECH

Free speech is a fundamental right granted Americans by the constitution. It is important to examine more closely what "free speech" means. Physically, speech is simply sounds produced by appropriate neuromuscular stimulation. Should "free speech" be limited simply to these sounds, or does it encompass the organized biochemistry that underlies the sounds and the thoughts that drive them? Every individual has a repertoire of thoughts that are available to them. Clearly then, thinking and voicing these thoughts is "free speech". Evolution of an individual as well as a society and its culture is intrinsically dependent on the creation of new thoughts and hence the expansion of the thought repertoire. Therefore, substances that expand ones repertoire of thoughts helps to provide the raw material for personel and social growth, to prevent their use is an unconstitutional restriction of free speech. Furthermore, it is antievolutionary and therefore against my religion.
