The United States was founded on the principles of freedom and equal rights for all. Although they were not fully embodied in the Constitution, the spirit of these thoughts has guided the greatness of this nation. However, as successful as we may have been, we carry with us numerous examples of how we could have done better. Most people, independent of race, religion etc, would like to do better. What does better mean? Are there common denominators that can unite us as unique individuals with common goals. I believe that there are scientific truths that can guide our diversity to the benefit of all. These truths are how we have become what we are, and how we will become our future. It has been relatively easy for us to grow and develop with so many resources awaiting our use. However, our capacity to "do" has become so great that both the input and output of mankind may be approaching the carrying capacity of our home, the earth. For mankind to continue to thrive, we must develop our methods of "doing" to be more harmonious with nature, of which we are a part, as opposed to of which we are apart. The new physics that has been developed over the past few decades is embodied in systems thinking. It embraces bottom up, as opposed to top down, creativity, cooperation and harmony as guiding principals. Systems thinking is revolutionizing the leading edge of science, education, business and economics. We can pioneer this new approach in Vermont government. It is time to restore the bottom up control of our government that was progressively lost as greed and power surfaced and took control. The power and creativity embraced in "of the people, by the people and for the people" will be reinstated as we develop the consciousness and understanding necessary to happily carry us into the future.

Most people feel the need to improve our control over governmental dictates and spending. I provide a mechanism to do that. The Republican and Democratic parties have bought our government by financing campaigns. The parties themselves are owned by the special interest groups that bought them. By uniting in our diversity we can overthrow the corruption that we foolishly allowed to develop. If the time and message is right, you will elect Vermont Grassroots Party members your own creative efforts.

Think of the absurdity. The Democrats and Republicans have outlawed marijuana. Thirty to sixty percent of our kids ignore the law and are therefore committing a serious (with respect to penalties) crime. Numerous scientific studies demonstrate important medical and health benefits from the chemicals found in marijuana (anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, anti-nausea, pain killer, anti-cancer, relieves migraines, anti-spasmodic, lowers blood pressure, reduces ocular pressure, provides relief for many auto-immune diseases, stimulates the appetite, promotes sleep). Yet sick people too must be criminals to use it. Farmers go out of business while Canadian and European farmers can participate in the hemp revolution. Our Democratic, Republican and Progressive representatives in the Federal government all voted for legislation that overturned a legal election for the first time in the history of the United States. Our news media did not find this item to be newsworthy. The time for change is now. Lets band together and have a revolution in the voting booth. Vote Grassroots.
