Did you know that national research shows that students who live on campus excel
more academically, and graduate faster than those who live off campus? Living on
campus can provide a positive college transition and more successful academic and
social experience. Enjoy the convenience of living minutes away from everything
you'll need as a student at UCCS - from your classes and the University Center, to
the Library and Recreation Center. Make friends with classmates throughout the village
and have fun with exciting programs and campus activities organized exclusively for
Housing Village residents!
Convenience | You are minutes away from your classes, the library, the parking garage, University Center, the Recreation Center, the Bookstore, and many other places that you will frequent while being a student at UCCS. Spend more time doing the things you want and need to do instead of commuting through the Colorado Springs traffic.
Academic Success | National research shows that students who live on campus excel more academically, and graduate faster than those who live off campus.
No Monthly Bills | Students pay for housing on a semester basis. There is no need to save for monthly rent, high speed internet access, basic phone service, gas, electricity, furniture, water, and basic cable – it’s included in the price. Because you pay by semester, you do not have to worry about the rising cost of utilities in the winter. And…you don't have to be concerned about the roommate that doesn't come up with their share of the rent and utility bills.
Safety | We have Resident Assistants and a professional staff member on call every night of the year. Our campus police department is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with a night security officer in Housing. Campus Police provide escorts for students to and from classes, Housing and parking when requested.
Campus Activities | Our Resident Assistants and student organizations offer programs and activities in the Housing Villages for residents. It is easy to get involved in social activities like dances, concerts and trips or in leadership opportunities like the Residence Hall Association and National Residence Hall Honorary.
Make Friends | Your classmates are down the hall, and on the floors above and below you. Organize a study group, watch television together, participate in intramural sports, host an interactive gaming tournament or just get together at the Lodge for meals.
On-Campus Living Requirement
As of September 2013, UCCS instituted an on-campus residency requirement for freshmen students admitted for the fall of 2014 academic term and beyond (excluding summer term). Freshmen who are under the age of 20 and have less than 30 hours of completed college course work will be required to live in UCCS Residence Life and Housing's residence halls. Colorado residents of El Paso, Teller, Douglas and Pueblo counties are exempt from this residency requirement; however, it is highly encouraged that all freshmen explore living on the UCCS campus for a positive college transition and more successful academic and social experience.
