Honoraria/Lecturer Parking Program
Honoraria/Lecturer Parking Permits
PROCEDURE
Effective Spring of 2000, reviewed Fall 2008
Parking Services, a division of the Department of Public Safety, recognizes
honoraria faculty are compensated at a rate much less than their full time
counterparts. Thus, when purchasing a full HUB permit, some honoraria
faculty are paying as much as 30% of what they make on a parking.
The following procedure has been developed to help honoraria faculty who are on campus once, twice, or three days a week. In order to ensure that parking is charged equitably based on use
of parking services and not on the pay of
the instructor, the following guidelines were used in development of this procedure:
-
Guidelines
-
Honoraria parking permits are available for sale to HONORARIA instructors only. For
this purpose, an honoraria instructor is defined as:
-
A non-benefited instructor/lecturer. Faculty with benefits will not qualify for this program.
-
An instructor who is not also a student. Anyone enrolled as a student at the University
of Colorado at Colorado Springs, regardless of credit hour load, will not qualify for this
program.
-
Recognition of the fact that most honoraria are on campus once, twice or three days a
week, thus the benefits of the full HUB permit are not fully utilized by these
individuals.
-
Pricing of honoraria parking permits MUST be structured in such a way that it is still
beneficial to purchase a full HUB permit.
-
Procedure
-
A semester permit will be provided for purchase by honoraria that will allow
them access to Hub parking lots and the Visitor parking lot on certain
days of the week only.
-
The permit would be valid during a given semester ONLY and ONLY for
the day(s) of the week(s) for which it is purchased. There is no restrictions on TIME use
for that day of the week.
-
The "day specific" permit would be valid the entire semester.
Each Monday-Friday "day specific" permit pricing
is available on the honoraria parking permit agreement form
available from the academic department staff member.
