Daniel L. Segal, Ph.D. joined the faculty at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in August 1995. He earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1992 from the University of Miami. He earned his BS in 1987 from Tulane University. Dr. Segal teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Clinical Psychology including Advanced Psychopathology, Clinical Interviewing and Personality Assessment, Clinical Geropsychology II, Abnormal Psychology, and Theories of Psychotherapy. He was the founding Director of the CU Aging Center and currently serves as a clinical supervisor for students in training at the Center. He is a Licensed Psychologist in Colorado and Florida. Dr. Segal’s research program targets the area of mental health and aging. His specific interests include diagnostic and assessment issues in clinical psychology and geropsychology, suicide prevention and aging, and personality disorders across the lifespan. He serves on the editorial boards of two journals (Behavior Modification; Clinical Case Studies) and is the Associate Editor for the Clinical Gerontologist. He is also a Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America. He received the Outstanding Teacher award from the UCCS College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in 2002 and from the UCCS Campus in 2006.
