Psychology Graduate Student wins Becker ScholarshipCongratulations to Evan Plys who survived some very stiff competition to win the Becker Scholarship, given to a graduate student who has demonstrated outstanding academic performance and engagement in the research process throughout the first year of our graduate program. The Becker Scholarship honors the memory of the late Lee Becker who served on a faculty in the psychology department from 1977-2001, and who was passionate about (and practiced!) methodological rigor in research. It is awarded to a graduate student at the end of his or her first year and is based on the quality of the student's thesis proposal, general engagement in the research process, and overall academic achievement. The scholarship helps to defray future educational expenses. Posted: Friday, May 31st |
