ACT , in a recent study, identified the differences in perception between high school teachers and college faculty in the key things that a student needs to know to successfully transition from high school to college. In an effort to increase alignment of the two environments PIPES is offering an open dialogue opportunity between secondary science and math departments, and their counterparts in post-secondary education.
These dialogues are scheduled on a request basis and open to both middle school and high school teachers. To request a dialoge between your department and the corresponding UCCS department please email or call Dave Khaliqi at dkhaliqi@uccs.edu or 262-3595.
Are you considering starting a FIRST LEGO League team but intimidated by the process and the technical aspects of the competition? PIPES wants to support you in this endeavor by giving you the opportunity to just watch a competition, speak with coaches and students and find out what it takes to coach or run a team.
Volunteer judges and event staff are needed. Please contact Dave Khaliqi for more information.
Please contact Dave Khaliqi at dkhaliqi@uccs.edu if you would like to come and watch the competition at UCCS on November 10, 2007.
