Awards

  • The Richard and Jane Francis Award
    The endowment for this prize was established in 2000 to award an annual prize of $1000 to a UCCS student for outstanding scholarship in Medieval Philosophy. The winner of the prize is determined by a faculty committee on the basis of papers (either two 5-6 page papers, or one paper up to 15 pages in length) in Medieval thought. Winners are announced after the semester in which the deadline is held.

  • The Eldon Stevens Award
    The endowment for this award honors the outstanding Senior Thesis of the academic year. The award is $1000. The winner of the prize is determined by a faculty committee composed of the Senior Thesis advisors for the year.

  • LAS Scholars Award
  • The Leni Sassower Graduate School Award

This $1000 award was established in spring 2007. Any female UCCS student who has graduated with a major or double-major in Philosophy and has been accepted into a graduate school program is eligible and may complete the application form.   • The Timothy A. Duffy Law School Award

This $1000 award will be offered for the first time in 2008-2009. Any UCCS student with a major or double-major in Philosophy who has been accepted into a Law School after graduation is eligible.
