An Announcement

We are greatly saddened by the sudden passing of our PGA Golf Management Program Director Ed Kelbel on Wednesday, March 28th. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ed's wife Rosemary and the Kelbel family and friends.

The resources of the University, College of Business, and the PGA Golf Management Program are being brought to bear on this situation.

Our first concern is ensuring that our current students are aware of their need to process this stunning news in a healthy way. We are meeting with each group and introducing them to the counseling services on campus and within the college.

Second, we have already made arrangements to ensure that the students will be able to complete the courses that are underway this semester. Mollie Sutherland and Paul Miller will be acting as substitutes in these classes.

Third, we also have been formulating our plans for the future. As a beginning, Dean Venkat Reddy has appointed Mollie as the Acting Program Director, and she has already assumed the responsibilities for decision-making and leadership for the program. At the appropriate time, the College will take steps to ensure that the program is completely staffed. We are committed to operating with the same hallmarks of quality and personal attention that existed under Ed's leadership. We are joined in that pledge by the College of Business administration, faculty, and staff as well as the UCCS Campus community.

As a result of this commitment, incoming and prospective students and their families can be sure that their experience with us will be of the highest quality.

If you have questions or wish to communicate with us, please feel free to contact any of us:

Venkat Reddy, Dean, College of Business
Mollie Sutherland, Acting Director PGA Golf Management
Paul Miller, Academic Advisor, PGA Golf Management
Rosey Reidl-Smith, Executive Assistant, PGA Golf Management
