About Us-Middle School
The mission of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs PIPES/Pre-Collegiate Program is to provide academically motivated first generation students with the academic preparation, opportunity, support and exposure necessary to attain a higher education degree and reach their potential through Saturday Science Academy workshops, Youth Leadership Development, and Summer Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) hands-on workshops.

All Pre-Collegiate academically motivated students will be prepared for the challenges of higher education degree attainment.

- Facilitate Career Exploration, Higher Education opportunities, and Leadership Development
- Establish Bridge Program to high school and Higher Education

Criteria for Middle School Selection*
- Attend a target middle school
- Be an academically motivated student first generation student (neither parent has a 4 year degree)
- Have a minimum 2.75 grade point average in 7th grade and a 3.0 grade point average in 8th grade
- Be recommended by a classroom teacher
- Have the desire to continue in education beyond high school
* Note:
PCDP reserves the right (on a case-by-case basis, based on available
openings and funding) to make exceptions to any of these admission
criteria.

Middle School Summer Program*
Two Days:
- Two-Day Academic Program for 7th & 8th grade students on campus at UCCS
- Have fun working on innovative science and technology projects alongside industry and military scientists and engineers
- Find out how science and math are used in fields such as
- Sports Medicine
- Building and Construction Trades
- Electronics
- Mechanics, flight and other technologies
