If distance prohibits you from attending an orientation session on campus, we offer an Online Orientation option as an alternative. It is designed to prepare you to register for classes and to give you an overview of the procedures and policies of UCCS. To ensure you attain the same material as those who attend a group orientation session on campus, we need you to complete a test at the end of the Online Orientation. In order for you to be released to register for your classes, at least 80% of the questions must be answered correctly.
The Online Orientation will take approximately 1-3 hours to complete. You do not need to do the entire orientation all at once (although it is recommended). Once you successfully complete the Online Orientation overview and test, you will be contacted (through e-mail) by an academic advisor from the Student Success Center. The advisor will provide a degree progress report and course recommendations for your intended major.
There is a one-time $20 orientation fee for transfer students. Payment of your orientation fee is required before you can be released to register for your classes. If you choose to also attend a group session on campus once you move to Colorado Springs (highly recommended), there is no additional fee for you, and you will need to complete the appropriate reservation form in this website to register for a date that will work for you. Please send your check or money order (made payable to UCCS Orientation) to the address below. Please include your name and student I.D. number.
