Orientation Welcome Leader (OWL) Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of Orientation activities and materials
- Acquaint new students with campus services and building locations
- Aid in the development of class schedules and assist in the registration process
- Give presentations and tours
Qualifications (OWLs must possess the following):
- Leadership development potential
- Positive communication and customer service skills
- Desire to work with students, family, faculty and staff
- Good academic standing
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Positive attitude towards the University
- Ability to take initiative
Day of Duties:
- Help make new students feel welcome on our campus
- Set up all signs, tables and rooms for orientation
- Participate in student information sessions (includes making presentations and participating in skits)
- Escort families and students to various activities
- Give campus tours
- Work with Academic Advisors to help students create schedules and register for classes
