Walk-in Tutoring

Math: During the hours the Center is open, we have between 2 and 6 tutors on duty to help with mathematics courses. The tutors are UCCS undergraduate and graduate students who are majoring in math, physics, computer science, engineering or another related field. They are trained to help with all mathematics classes from Math 090 through Math 3400, and can provide some assistance with other upper level math classes, on a case-by-case basis.

Physics: In conjunction with the Science Center, we offer Physics help six days per week. There are also weekly Problem Sessions for PES 1110 and PES 1120 (see schedule).

Project Success

Project Success is a program that places students in small study groups to work with a qualified tutor. In the group, you will work on mastering the content of your math class, as well as learning valuable skills that will help you achieve your larger academic goals. Project Success is geared towards students in Math 090 through Math 1360. Download an application and return it to Dr. Dorrington or Katie Hendricks in the MLC, or email Katie at ksowards@uccs.edu for more information.

Private Tutoring

For students who prefer private tutoring, referrals to local tutors are available. The tutors on this list are private contractors, and are not employees of the Math Center. All arrangements, including fee, will be made between the tutor and student individually. Please, only contact a tutor if you are legitimately seeking tutoring.

If you would like to be added to our referral list as a private tutor, please fill out the attached information form and return it to the Math Center in Engineering 136, fax it to (719) 255-3605, or email it to Dr. Dorrington at jdorring@uccs.edu.
