Instructions for taking the
Online Math Placement Test

***Please Read ALL the Instructions Completely
Before Beginning the Testing Process.***

**NOTE:  it may take up to 2 business days for your MPT placement score to sync to your 
Student Portal. You will not be able to register for a math course until this occurs! 

    • In the box titled “New User”, click on “Buy Now” and follow the instructions. 
             *There is a $11 charge so you must have a credit card or PayPal account to register*

    • You will be taken to the license agreement and Privacy Policy page to review,once you review the terms, click "I Accept".

    • The next page will allow you to create an account. If you have used this system before, you can select ‘Yes’,
      otherwise select ‘No’ to create your Account. You will need to create a Login Name and Password.

    • When you get to the “Account Information” page, enter 80933 as the school’s zip code. 
      Select “UNIV OF COLO- COLO SPR” for the school name. You must enter a *valid* email address
      as this is used to send you the confirmation.

    • After submitting the information on the “Account Information” page the next page will be for payment information.
      Please enter the appropriate VISA, MC, AMEX, Discover or PayPal information.

    • After payment is submitted, the next page will present a button to click to “Log In Now.”  

    • This will return you to www.mymathtest.com.  Click on “log in”.  Enter the username and password that you created
      earlier and enter the program.

    • You will be required to enter a 16-digit  Program ID that will put you into a section based on your last name.  The codes are listed in the tables below.  Enter the code and click “Enroll”. 
      (All letters should be entered as CAPS and the “0” represents the number zero.)

    • This will take you to the placement test home page. Under Announcements, it is recommended you
      view the "How to Enter Answers" tutorial. 
  • When you’re ready to take a test, click “Take a Test” in the left column.

  • To decide which test you should take, look at your major in the table of required math courses
    found on a link on the Math Department’s website: www.uccs.edu/math, then click on
    Math Placement Test Information.

  • Take the test that is required. *You have 2 chances to take each test and there are review tests to
    use if you need to refresh your skills*
       - If you are attempting to enroll in MATH 1120- Business Calculus or MATH 1350-Calculus 1 
         you will be required to Pass 2 tests.               
       -     In order to TEST OUT of MATH 1040- College Algebra, you will need to take and PASS 2 tests).  

  • Once you have submitted your test, make a note of your score and use the following table to see what class it places you
    in, y    our scores will be recorded online for your advisor to view. 

    *To qualify to take one of the following math courses, you must either PASS the corresponding prerequisite course
    or  receive a passing score on the Math Placement Test(s).
