K-theory for Leavitt path algebras

Dr. Pere Ara

Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona

Abstract:
To each directed graph, one can associate several algebras, the most known is probably the path algebra
of the graph. Recently there has been a lot of interest in a different type of algebras associated to graphs,
the so-called Leavitt path algebras. In a recent investigation of the speaker, Brustenga and Cortiñas, the K-theory of
Leavitt path algebras has been computed. Whilst the K-theory of the path algebra depends only on the K-theory of the base field and
the number of vertices, the K-theory of the Leavitt path algebra depends also on the adjacency matrix of the graph.
