The Minor in Mathematics
A student wishing to complete a minor in mathematics must complete at least 24 hours of courses given by the Department of Mathematics. All such courses must be completed with a grade of C or better. Of these 24 hours, the following requirements must be met:
- Math 135, 136, 235: Calculus I, II, III. (12 credit hours)
- One of Math 215, 311, 341, 350, 351, 414, 421, 431. (3 hours)
- A total of at least 9 additional hours of approved math courses numbered above 302.
The Minor in Statistics
A student wishing to complete a minor in statistics must complete at least 21 hours of approved Mathematics courses given by the Department of Mathematics. All such courses must be completed with a grade of C or better. Of these 21 hours, the following requirements must be met:
- Math 135, 136, 235: Calculus I, II, III. (12 hours)
- Math 310 or its equivalent. (3 hours)
- Math 381 or its equivalent. (3 hours)
- One of: Math 481, 482, 483, 485, 487. (3 hours)
It is imperative that a student intending to minor in statistics plan her/his program and obtain the approval of a departmental advisor before the end of her/his sophomore year.
