Prospector
A Colorado state wide library catalog that includes both public and academic libraries. An excellent resource, but it will take 3-5 business days for books to arrive.
WorldCat
An international catalog that UCCS students, staff and faculty may request items not available at UCCS or in Prospector. You need an ILLiad account to request items in WorldCat. Items can take 2 weeks or more to be delivered.

SciFinder Scholar 1907-
SciFinder Scholar provides access to CAplus, a database of chemical literature and U.S. and foreign chemical-related patents, CASREACT, the CAS Registry, Chemcat, Chemlist, and Medline. It includes citations to journal articles, book chapters, patents, conference proceedings, technical reports, substance database and dissertations covered in Chemical Abstracts as well as articles currently being indexed, book reviews and biographical information.
Merck Index (14th edition)
An encyclopedia of biomedical information, "the Merck Index is a world renowned, authoritative handbook of chemical, pharmaceutical and biomedical information that contains more than 10,000 monographs, 32 supplemental tables and 450 Organic Name Reactions and almost 1000 retired monographs."

Scopus, developed by Elsevier, claims to be the most comprehensive abstracts database covering scientific, medical, technical and social sciences. It contains abstracts to more than 13,600 titles from over 4,000 international publishers. Contains access to over 26 million abstracts (going back to 1966) and 5 years of reference backfiles (building up to 10 years by 2005).

NIST Chemistry Webbook
The NIST Chemistry WebBook provides users with easy access to chemical and physical property data for chemical species through the internet. The data provided in the site are from collections maintained by the NIST Standard Reference Data Program and outside contributors. Data in the WebBook system are organized by chemical species. The WebBook system allows users to search for chemical species by various means including name, chemical formula, CAS Registry number, molecular weight. Once the desired species has been identified, the system will display data for the species.

Provides procedures for the synthesis of organic compounds including some practical methods for the preparation of specific compounds and other procedures illustrate important synthetic methods with general utility. USPTO patent databases
The US Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) offers access to bibliographic and full-text patent databases. These databases cover the period from January 1976 to the most recent weekly issue date.
A Visual Interpretation of the Table of Elements
An innovative project interpreting the periodic table through "images that explore and reflect upon the diversity of elements that comprise matter." Each of the 109 elements is accompanied by a visual image, as well as a description and history (including origin of name). The site is supported by the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Developed by Mark Winter of the University of Sheffield, U.K. Maintained at Columbia University, this site contains a large number of links organized by topic to other chemistry sites.
