Where to Start? Finding Your Article

• Foreign Policy in Focus
• The National Review *
• The National Interest *
• The Nation *
  The most current issues of The Nation (within the last month) are only available online via The Nation's website.

Choose Your Keywords

After you find your article, choose a few keywords about the article. These keywords will be used when looking for more research. For example:

Economist's article "Melting Asia", could have keywords like: Asia and climate change.

Search these databases with your article's keywords. All databases listed are restricted to use by UCCS students, staff and faculty only. Members of the public may use these databases in the library only.

  A multi-disciplinary databases that includes a broad range of topics. Great place to start any research.
• PAIS International
  A political science database, that primarily includes political science journals.
• Gale Virtual Reference Library
  Searches hundreds of encyclopedias at once. Use this if you are unfamiliar with a concept.

Useful Websites

United Nations The UN provides a lot of international information. You can browse the site or search it ISN: International Relations & Security Network Based in Switzerland, this organization focuses on international relations and security issues. United States Institute of Peace An independent, nonpartisan institution established and funded by Congress that looks at international relations.

World Bank An international organization made of 185 member countries are shareholders. Contains country profiles and current statistical information. World Trade Organization An international organization made of member countries. This organization focuses on economic policies and trade between nations. World Economic Outlook Databases National and international economic indicators reported by the International Monetary Fund.

Books & More

You will probably not have time to read an entire book for this assignment, but you could still read a chapter or section in a book.
