BIOL 375-4 Conservation Biology

The major focus is the application of biological and ecological principles to preserve biodiversity. Ultimate sources and current worldwide losses of biological diversity are emphasized. Because conservation biology demands multidisciplinary approaches, historical, legal, economic, and ethical issues are also included. Prer: BIOL 115, BIOL 370 recommended. Taught by Kathleen R. Malueg, Ph.D. of the UCCS Department of Biology.

This course begins July 11, 2008 and concludes on July 26, 2008. The meeting schedule is 8:00am-6:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays, in the Science Building, Room 244.

Online registration opens for this course on April 1, 2008. The tuition for this course is $1000. The Call Number is 00416. To register, review the Extended Studies enrollment instructions by clicking on the "Register" tab at left.

IMPORTANT FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION
This course is not approved for Financial Aid through UCCS, and therefore these credit hours will not count toward a full-time UCCS student's load. If you are a full-time UCCS student, a reduction in your load could result in a reduced financial aid award. Please contact a financial aid counselor before enrolling if you have any questions. Tuition for Summer 2008 Extended Studies courses is due by May 23, 2008. If you are registering after this date, payment is due at time of registration. Make sure to wait for your balance to appear in your online account before you make your payment. You may pay via credit card in your student account or by Electronic Funds Transfer; if you are not able to make your payment by either of these methods, please contact Pamela Mead Krull in the Bursar's Office at 719/262-3391 to set up a payment by another method. Do not wait to receive a bill; you may be charged late fees.

The withdrawal deadline for this course is Friday, July 18, 2008. If you are withdrawing before this date, you may withdraw in your student account and receive a full tuition refund. If you are withdrawing after this date, you must contact LAS Extended Studies at 719/262-4071 or lases@uccs.edu to complete withdrawal paperwork; you will not receive a full tuition refund if you withdraw after this date.
