Located in the beautiful city of Colorado Springs, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences (LAS) thrives on its positive relationship with the community. In the past year alone, over 300 students from LAS participated in internships in Colorado Springs. In addition, LAS works to promote an atmosphere of service learning in which students frequently serve the Colorado Springs community; some students have cleared brush at the Heller Center for Arts and Humanities, others have planted trees in the city's foothills, and still others have worked at local senior centers or assisted living facilities. By taking learning into the community, LAS hopes to build on its thriving relationship with the community for many years to come.

Small classes, accessible faculty, and a wealth of options.

These are just a few of the qualities that draw students to LAS.  With 17 majors and 30 minors and an abundance of graduate programs, it's the largest college on the UCCS campus, offering an array of exciting degree programs that span the disciplines. From coursework in the natural and social sciences to programs in the humanities, LAS provides the experiences of a large university in an individualized, student-focused setting.

Here, learning does not stop in the classroom: anthropology students participate in archaeological digs around the world; psychology and sociology students practice their coursework in an array of community organizations; opportunities for internships and professional experience abound.

After graduation, students from LAS are thoroughly prepared for careers in a variety of fields or for the continuation of their academic pursuits in graduate study. Students in pre-professional programs such as pre-medicine, pre-law and pre-dentistry boast an outstanding acceptance rate to some of the nation's top law and medical schools. Some have received nationally-prestigious Mellon, Fulbright and Marshall Scholarships as a testament to their outstanding education. In addition, Army ROTC at UCCS is ranked the best in Colorado and one of the top programs nationwide.

Opportunity, broad understanding, and a promising future.

In the College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences, students are prepared for success long after their college education is complete.
