Heat Island Effect: Site Surfaces

Why is this important? Reduce heat islands (thermal gradient between developed and undeveloped areas) to minimize impact on microclimate and human and wildlife habitat.

What does this look like? Constructed surfaces will be shaded with landscape features (within 5 years) and use of high-reflectance materials for hardscape.
