At UCCS, the energy required to heat, cool and power buildings is produced primarily by coal powered electricity and natural gas from our local utility. Lighting, heating, and cooling our buildings represent nearly two-thirds of our campus greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions that contribute to global climate change.
