UCCS upcoming activities!
Office of Student activities is hosting our annual Homecoming! Homecoming is a popular way to welcome back alumni and residents of the university. This can include: parades, bonfires and a homecoming dance. It is usually during the weekend of the "homecoming game" always played during football season.
Often the city can get involved with homecoming and the bigger the school, usually the bigger the celebrations.
In some schools (usually high schools) there is a vote and coronation of the homecoming "king and queen". These people are current students and are voted on by the students currently attending as well.
There is often a homecoming dance and the king and queen are given special recognition and a dance where they are the only couple allowed to dance. They are also featured in the homecoming parade on a "float".
