Chancellor
The search committee for the Chancellor will be appointed by the President. The membership of the search committee will be constituted as follows:
a. Faculty, including a Dean (4). The President will request that the campus faculty governance organization nominate faculty from within their membership. The President will select a Dean from nominations received from the Deans' Council.
b. Student (1). The President will confer with the campus student governance organization on the selection and request nominations of two or more students from the campus student governance organization. The President will appoint a student from nominations received.
c. Staff (1). The President will request nominations from the campus staff governance organization. The President will appoint a staff member from nominations received.
d. Alumnus (1). The President will request nominations from the alumni governance organization. The President will appoint the alumnus/a from nominations received.
e. Administrator (1). The President will appoint an officer of the administration who shall serve as the search committee chair.
The committee size may be increased when deemed necessary by the President. The 4-1-1-1-1 ratio need not be retained if committee size is increased.
Vice Chancellors
The search committee for a Vice Chancellor will be appointed by the Chancellor.
The search committee for Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs will be constituted as follows:
a. Faculty (4). The Chancellor will confer with the campus faculty governance organization on the selections and will request nominations of eight or more faculty members.
b. Student (1). The Chancellor will confer with the campus student governance organization on the selection and request nominations of two or more persons from the campus student organization.
c. Staff (1). The chancellor will confer with the campus staff governance organization on the selection and request nominations of two or more persons from the campus staff organization.
d. Alumnus (1). The Chancellor will confer with the campus alumni organization on the selection and request nominations of two or more persons from the campus alumni organization.
For other Vice Chancellors, the Chancellor will appoint a search committee that represents affected University constituencies and, if appropriate, individuals from outside the University having expertise in the field.
The committee size may be increased when deemed necessary by the Chancellor. The 4-1-1-1-1 ratio need not be retained if committee size is increased.
Deans
While there is no defined search committee membership, the supervising authority shall select informed internal representatives of the profession and/or discipline who are familiar with the objective s and requirements of the school, college, or library concerned. If appropriate, external representatives of the profession may be selected. The supervising authority shall receive nominations for faculty membership on the committee from appropriate representative faculty groups of the school or college.
