The Honors Program is structured as a minor with a minimum of 18 credit hours of Honors designated work required to graduate with University Honors. There is a shared freshman experience and a shared senior experience. In their junior and senior years, Honors Students will take courses in their College and/or at least one course in the Honors program shall be taken in the major.
Types of Honors Courses
There are four types of Honors courses: (a) Freshman Honors Seminar; (b) Senior Honors Seminar; (c) dedicated Honors sections of courses; and (d) designated Honors courses. A dedicated Honors section of a course is a section of a multi-section course reserved for Honors students. A designated Honors course is a course that a student may take for Honors credit by requesting permission to do so from the faculty member teaching the course and by arranging distinctive course requirements with the faculty member teaching the course.
