Department of History

Message from the Chair

Dr. Paul Harvey

The Department of History is a community of scholars who seek to understand the past and strive to introduce students to the process of historical thinking. Our undergraduate and graduate programs offer students a broad education in many fields of historical inquiry and prepare our graduates as engaged, knowledgeable, and contributing members of society. Our program offers courses from ancient Greece to the modern Middle East, and features faculty with expertise on the history of peoples on every inhabited continent.

We offer courses six days a week, in every time slot from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and we are proud of our record of placing our graduates in graduate/law/professional schools across the country. You will find here full information on our faculty, our BA and MA programs, opportunities for internships, scholarships, and fellowships, and much more. Click and explore, and let me know if you have any questions. Dr. Paul Harvey
