UCCS Wireless Access for Macintosh 10.4,10.5,10.6

NOTE: To connect to the UCCS wireless, your laptop must have all security and operating system updates installed. To download updates, go to http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106704.

1. Click the wireless networking icon from the lower right of your screen and select "Turn Airport On".

2. Click the wireless networking icon again and select "UCCS-Wireless".

3.  Enter your IT username and password and click OK. (10.5,10.6 window is shown. 10.4 is only slightly different.)
If you get an error at this point, it's likely that WPA is not supported on your computer. Go to http://www.uccs.edu/helpdesk/wireless-open.htm for other options.

You may see a screen like this:
You'll need to click "Show Certificate".

You'll then need to select "Always trust "radius.uccs.edu"  and then press "Continue".

4. Read the EUA, check Accept, and click the Next button.

5. Enter your UCCS IT username and password as well as a contact phone number. Enter the current building and room number in the "Room Number" field. (If you don't know the room number, just enter the building. Click the Download button.Screen Capture

6. You'll need to download the Persistent Agent. (Safari window is shown. Other browsers may be different.) Administrative privileges are not required to install this application and it removes itself after the system check.

If the screen below down't popup automatically, double click on "Bradford Persistent Installer" in the above image.  You'll want to select "Bradford Persistent Agent.pkg" when the box below comes up.

7. Install the application.  Keep pressing "Continue" until you get to the screen below.  Click on the hard drive image and then select "Continue"

8.  Keep selecting the default button which is the right button on the installer to install the application.  Once the application has installed you'll see this screen, then click the "Close" button.

9.  Enter your UCCS username and password and press "Login"

10.  If you have passed the security check you'll see the following screen.

11. Your network connection will disconnect and reconnect, at which point you will have access to the internet. (This may take a minute.) You will not be required to take the security test again for one week. If your computer fails to reconnect to the network automatically, reconnect to the wireless network manually.

If you fail the security scan wait until your network is configured and "refresh" your browser page.  Follow the instructions on the screen.

BRADFORD PERSISTENT AGENT MUST STAY INSTALLED ON YOUR COMPUTER FOR CONTINUED CONNECTIVITY TO THE UCCS-Wireless NETWORK. If the Bradford Persistent agent is uninstalled, you will not be able to connect to the UCCS-Wireless network until you re-install the program again.
