UCCS Wireless Access for Macintosh 10.4 and 10.5

Last Update: 11/7/07

NOTE: To connect to the UCCS wireless, your laptop must have all critical and security operating system updates installed. To download updates, go to http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106704.

Screen Capture
1. Click the wireless networking icon from the lower right of your screen and select "Turn Airport On".
Screen Capture
2. Click the wireless networking icon again and select "UCCS-WPA".
Screen Capture
3. Enter your IT username and password and click OK. (10.5 window is shown. 10.4 is only slightly different.) If you get an error at this point, it's likely that WPA is not supported on your computer. Go to http://www.uccs.edu/helpdesk/wireless-open.htm for other options.
Screen Capture
4. Read the EUA, check Accept, and click the Next button.
Screen Capture
5. Enter your UCCS IT username and password as well as a contact phone number. Enter the current building and room number in the "Room Number" field. (If you don't know the room number, just enter the building. Click the Download button.
Screen Capture
6. You'll need to download the Client Security Agent. (Safari window is shown. Other browsers may be different.) Administrative privileges are not required to install this application and it removes itself after the system check.
Screen Capture
7. Double-click to install the application.
Screen Capture
8. Your network connection will disconnect and reconnect, at which point you will have access to the internet. (This may take a minute.) You will not be required to take the security test again for one week. If your computer fails to reconnect to the network automatically, reconnect to the wireless network manually.
