UCCS Resources VPN for Macintosh OS 10.4

Configuring the VPN Connection

1. Open your harddrive icon on your desktop.

2. Open Applications and then Open Internet Connect.

3. Click the File menu and select "New VPN Connection". Select PPTP and click Continue.

4. Type voyager.uccs.edu for Server address. Insert ufp\your IT username for Account Name. Insert your IT password for Password. Click the drop down menu Configuration and choose Edit Configurations.

5. Type UCCS Resources VPN in the Save As field. Click the Save button.

6. Click OK.

Connecting the VPN

7. Open your harddrive icon on your desktop.

8. Open Applications and then Open Internet Connect.

9. Click the Connect menu and select Options. Ensure there's NO check in the box "Send all traffic over VPN connection". Click OK.

10. Click to select the correct VPN. The server address is voyager.uccs.edu Click the Connect button.

11. Verify the connection is established. The Status will say Connected To.

Once connected, you can now access:

  • Student IT accounts access on Excelsior
  • Faculty and Staff IT accounts access on Enterprise (step 18)

Option 1: Student IT accounts access on Excelsior

12. Click on your desktop to enable Finder. Click Go and select Connect to Server.

13. Insert cifs://excelsior.uccs.edu/students$ for Server Address. Click the + icon to add the server connection to your favorites. Click the Connect button.

14. Insert UFP for Workgroup/Domain. Insert your username for Account Name. Insert your password for Password. Click the OK button.

15. An icon that says STUDENTS will appear on the desktop.

16. Open the STUDENTS folder to access Student IT folders.

17. Click the Disconnect button when you're finished.

Option 2: Faculty and Staff IT accounts access on Enterprise

18. Click on your desktop to enable Finder. Click Go and select Connect to Server.

19. Insert cifs://enterprise.uccs.edu/faculty$ for Server Address. Click the + icon to add the server connection to your favorites. (Replace faculty$ with staff$ for staff accounts.) Click the Connect button.

20. Insert UFP for Workgroup/Domain. Insert your username for Account Name. Insert your password for Password. Click the OK button.

21. An icon that says FACULTY will appear on the desktop (or STAFF if appropriate).

22. Open the FACULTY (or STAFF) folder to access IT folders.

23. Click the Disconnect button when you're finished.
