Student Employees Needed

  • The Information Technology Help Desk needs good student employees. Customer skills are a must. Working hours are flexible and are scheduled around classes and study time.

  • Help Desk employees require experience installing Windows and configuring networks, and a knowledge of computer hardware and software. Typical tasks include:
    • Provide computer expertise on the telephone to help staff, faculty, and students correct problems
    • Troubleshoot and repair software and networking problems on staff and faculty campus computers in their offices or at the Help Desk
    • Troubleshoot and repair software and networking problems on staff, faculty, and student's personal computers when brought to the Help Desk
    • Back up and restore files, and format and reinstall operating systems and software on computers
    • Inventory and manage loans of cameras, laptop computers, projectors, and other equipment
    • Set up networking configurations, such as wireless and VPN
    • Develop and maintain help sheets on the website
  • To ensure the safety of personnel and equipment, employees must meet the following physical requirements.
    • Must able to lift and carry 50 pounds
    • Vision correctable to 20/20 or better
  • Starting pay: $9.20
  • (promotion possible to $9.74 after working a semester and successful completion of competency exam)
  • Hours: 15-30 hours/week between the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday thru Friday
  • All finalists for the position must consent to and pass a background investigation prior to final appointment. Background check includes prior employment verification, criminal history, and sex offender registry check.
