Computer Software For Personal Use

  • Students will probably need Microsoft Office for their university work. We recommend the Standard Edition which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. There is also a Professional Edition which includes Publisher and Access for an additional cost.
    • Staff and faculty will also want Microsoft Office. If you do university work on your home computer, you may be eligible to install Office at no additonal cost. Click the link below for more information. If this isn't appropriate, staff and faculty are also eligible to purchase academic versions at the UCCS Bookstore or elsewhere.
    • Other software may be downloaded for free. Check the following website.
    • Always check for academic versions for any other software you may need. Many companies offer these versions at substantial discounts.
    • All systems will also need antivirus software. Click the link below for additional information and instructions.
    • We recommend anti-spyware software be installed on all computer systems. Click the link below for for additional information and instructions.
