These instructions are for Netscape 7. Netscape 8 will not work for UCCS email. It only supports
Internet-based email like Hotmail, Yahoo, AOL, etc. Download Netscape 7 from www.netscape.com.
1. Start Netscape 7 Mail by choosing Mail & Newsgroups in the
Start Menu.
2. Select Do not display this dialog again and select Yes if you want
Netscape 7 as your default mail application.
3. Select Create a new account.
4. Select Email account and click Next.
5. Insert your first and last name in the Your Name field and insert your email in the
Email Address field; e.g. Jane Doe and jdoe@uccs.edu respectively. Click
Next.
6. Select IMAP and enter imap.uccs.edu in the Incoming Server
field. Click Next.
7. Enter your username in the User Name field; e.g. jdoe. Click
Next.
8. Enter your email address in the Account Name field; e.g. jdoe@uccs.edu. Click
Next.
9. Click Finish.
10. Right click on the created account and click on Properties.
11. Select Outgoing Server (SMTP). Enter smtp.uccs.edu in the
Server Name field. Select Use name and password.. Enter your username in the User
Name field. e.g. jdoe. Click Okay.
12. Right click on the created account and click on Get Messages for Account.
