Security Changes to Outlook 2002-2003

1. Open Outlook.

2. Click on the Tools menu and select E-mail Accounts.

3. Ensure "View or change existing e-mail accounts" is marked and click the Next button.

4. Highlight your email account and click the Change button.

5. Remove the password and the checkmark so it will NOT remember the password. Click the More Settings button.

6. Click the Outgoing Server tab. Click to place a checkmark next to "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication."

7. Click the Advanced tab. Click to place a checkmark next to "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)" for both Incoming and Outgoing servers. Change the Outgoing Server port to 465. Click the OK button. Click OK again and then the Next button and then Finish.
