Reconfiguring Apple Mail for UCCS E-Mail over SSL

NOTE: These instructions explain the configuration to the UCCS Webmail server. They will not work if you use the UCCS Exchange server (Example email address: first.lastname@ufp.uccs.edu).

These instructions assume that your UCCS email account is already added:

1. Open Keychain Access in Applications/Utilities.

2. Select the login entry under Keychains and look for imap.uccs.edu and smtp.uccs.edu entries. If you don't find these entries skip to step 4.

3. Delete the smtp.uccs.edu and imap.uccs.edu entries.

1. Open Mail.

2. In Mail, click the Mail menu and Select Preferences.

3. Select your UCCS account, click the Advanced tab, and verify the following information.
  • Use SSL: Check
  • Port: 993

4. Select the UCCS account, click Account Information, click the Outgoing Mail Server drop-down box and select Edit Server List.

5. Select/add the smtp.uccs.edu account, click the Advanced tab, and verify the following information. Click OK when finished.
  • Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL): Check
  • Use custom port: 465
  • Authentication: Password
  • Password: Leave this blank.
